Helaba has arranged a Shariah compliant investment facility of £19.71Mio for the UK headquarters of Procter and Gamble in Weybridge, Surrey. The property comprises 109,290 sqft of Grade A office accommodation and conference facilities. Constructed in 1995 it is located in one of the most prominent office parks in the South East of England. The property is let in its entirety to Procter and Gamble until June 2020, providing over ten years of income.
Gatehouse Bank acquired and structured the investment for a syndicate of private clients from the Gulf states. This is the first acquisition by the Bank’s real estate team. Gatehouse Bank is a Shariah compliant investment bank based in London and is authorized and regulated by the FSA.
This is the first Shariah compliant financing facility completed by Helaba in the UK. Helaba was very pleased to be invited by Gatehouse to structure the finance for this transaction and the London teams of the two Banks worked closely to make the facility available to the client’s needs and to a challenging timetable. In this transaction Helaba acted as Arranger and Underwriter and it was provided by Helaba’s London branch. Helaba was advised by Taylor Wessing LLP and Savills.
