Commodity Finance
Do you manufacture or trade in raw materials, semi-finished products and other goods that are highly marketable and subject to strong demand? Our tailored financing for these commodities, most of which are also traded on international exchanges, is based on the commodity rather than on the specific creditworthiness of your company. We finance manufacturing, processing and trade on a transaction basis and are guided in each case by the underlying material flows (supply contracts). The liquidity needed to repay the loans comes from the proceeds of the sale of the commodities, and security is provided in the main by a transfer of the rights created by the supply contract.
Our traditional target customer group comprises
- international trading companies wishing to safeguard their medium- to long-term sources of supply by paying in advance and
- raw material producers in emerging market countries that cannot cover their liquidity requirements in freely convertible currency (usually USD) in their home banking market or have no access to the international finance market.
