Helaba Dublin was founded in 1990 and is owned by Helaba Landesbank Hessen-Thüringen Girozentrale (100%). The legal form of the bank is that of a private unlimited company.

Debt Ratings
Helaba has submitted a letter of comfort to the Central Bank of Ireland in favour of Helaba Dublin. The amount of paid-up capital currently stands at EUR 125,000,000. In view of its legal status and the assertion by the parent company that it will always be in a position to meet its liabilities, Helaba Dublin is assigned a short term debt rating of "A-1" and a long-term senior unsecured debt rating of "A" by Standard & Poor's rating agency.

Refinancing

The Refinancing of Helaba Dublin’s activities takes place in the inter-bank sector through customer deposits and placing of its own "Schuldscheindarlehen" with non-Irish institutional investors.

Helaba International Finance plc (HIF)

The principal activity of Helaba International Finance plc (HIF) is the issuing of bonds and notes guaranteed by Helaba for refinancing purposes of the Helaba Group.

All issues are unconditionally and irrevocably guaranteed by Landesbank Hessen-Thüringen Girozentrale and have been rated AAA (Fitch), Aaa (Moody’s), and AA (Standard and Poor’s). The proceeds from these issues are exclusively used for the financing of associated companies within the Helaba Group.
Helaba’s senior unsecured unguaranteed obligations (obligations not covered by Gewährträgerhaftung) are rated “Aa2”/“A+”/“A” (long-term) by Moody’s Investors Service, FitchRatings, and Standard & Poor’s respectively.
