Our Employees

Motivated employees represent the bank’s greatest source of potential. Helaba sees the individual advancement and long-term retention of employees as central factors influencing its own performance, as employees benefit from flexible working practices and target-driven advancement as much as companies.

Social and technical qualification

Helaba honours its employees’ willingness to learn and change. Further and continued education in the professional context involves teaching not only technical skills but also social skills. When acquired, both these skills are key qualifications for successful working. Our individual advancement offerings are based on employees’ potential, so the development plans we agree with our employees are geared not just to technical careers but also careers in management and project management.


Balance and equal treatment

Maintaining a healthy balance between the professional and private lives of our employees actually improves the bank’s performance. Helaba offers a number of options aimed at helping its employees achieve this work-life balance, including the flexible organisation of the time spent working through flexitime, part-time working, teleworking and partial retirement. Balance during working hours is also called for: a good atmosphere at work is only achieved if employees treat their co-workers fairly. To Helaba, it is self-evident that this is s contributing factor in the equal treatment of all employees.


A future working in a bank

Each year, Helaba makes forty training places available for qualifying entry into the profession and for obtaining additional qualifications. University graduates can prepare themselves for technical and management functions in special trainee advancement programmes. Anyone who decides to make a career with us soon notices that Helaba puts a lot of effort into the retention of good recruits. This can be seen, for example, in our flexible attitude toward employees’ making their own arrangements for pension provision to complement the schemes offered by the company.
